Tunisian Prime Minister resigns

Tunisian Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali has announced his resignation in a news conference in Tunis as his initiative to create a non-partisan cabinet to steer Tunisia via a crisis sparked by the killing of left wing politician Shokri Belaid , didn't succeed after the ruling Ennahda party rebuffed his plan.


Ennahda's leader Rachid Ghannouchi had submit his own proposal for a mixed government of politicians and technocrats coupled with said there was a consensus among political parties for Jebali to stay prime minister. Jebali did not rule out accepting if he was charged through the president once more to form a new government, but he explained any new cabinet he'd lead must be free from partisan haggling, inclusive and charged primarily with holding new elections.
