Nicolas Maduro wins Venezuela's presidential election

Ruling party candidate Nicolas Maduro has narrowly won Venezuela's presidential election with 50.8 % of votes in comparison to unified opposition candidate and Miranda state Governor Henrique Capriles who was simply polled 49.1 % in the ballots. Due to narrow margin of votes Capriles has refused to concede defeat and demanded full recounting alleging there have been attempts to let people vote after polling stations closed and pressuring civil servants to prefer Maduro.

The elections were held carrying out a death of Hugo Chavez , Venezuela's charismatic president for 14 years, in March 2013. Maduro, former foreign minister and v . p . and named his political heir by Chavez, was widely prone to win the right to complete the newest six-year term Chavez won in October 2012, promising to keep his oil-funded policies that cut poverty from 50 to 29 percent with popular health, education and food programs.

  1. May the brilliant and courageous leader we knew as Hugo Chaves rest in peace and may his predecessor Nicholas Maduro lead his people to greatness. God bless Maduro and his family and god bless the people of Venezuela. I pray to the lord our God, please father bestow strength, courage and resolve onto the people whom wish to stand up to the evil forces that drive our brothers and sisters to do Satans bidding. May the people of Venezuela stand unified and cast out those that oppose her. I ask these things through Jesus Christ. Amen
